Congratulations, graduates! Graduation marks a significant milestone in your life. It brings to a close one era and opens the door to another. At this time of celebration and change, it's good to reflect on past accomplishments and achievements, but more importantly, it's a time to look ahead toward the bright and exciting future God has in store for you.
Tomorrow we celebrate Memorial Day in remembrance of our War heroes. As we remember those who gave their life in service to our country, may we never forget the greatest sacrifice of all - the Lord Jesus Christ who gave His life for our salvation. Each Lord's Day should be a memorial day to remind us of God's grace and mercy.
In observance of Memorial Day, the Church Office and Canaan Credit Union will be closed tomorrow, May 30, 2011.
Salem Baptist Church will host the Fellowship Baptist District Association this afternoon at 4:00 P.M.The church is located at 500 E. Park Avenue, Champaign. Canaan Academy promotion is June 3 at 8:00 A.M. in the Gymnasium.
The Annual Session of Illinois Baptist General State Convention convenes June 6-10 in Decatur. Antioch Baptist Church is the host church. Fellowship Baptist District Association will host the Welcome Program June 6.
Victory Day 2011 is July 17, our celebratory time to Reconnect, Recommit, and Rejoice! Sis. Cora Morris is the Coordinator.A Pre-Victory Day Fellowship Dinner was held last Sunday. The Men's Discipleship Class is hosting a Prayer Breakfast, Saturday, June 4, 8:30 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall. There is no sign-up; just show-up! Friends and Family are invited. This is the kick-off for their new series, "Men - Enroll in the University of Life."
Canaan Academy's Summer Enrichment Program for Pre-K through grade 5 begins June 13- July 22, 2011.
